Corporate
I have only recently ventured into the world of corporate writing as a writer for Wilson M. Beck Global Risks Inc. in which I prepare the annual State of Market Report for the commercial insurance industry. Prior to being hired by Mark Williams, I didn't know anything about commercial insurance which meant that in order to produce the first booklet, I needed to learn the terminology, understand the ins and outs of the industry, and organize it enough in my head to be able to then reiterate everything I'd learned in an easy-to-understand, articulate, and professional fashion. It was definitely a test of tenacity and brain function and I am very pleased with the end result - for both of them.
Following my work with Wilson M. Beck, I was referred to another commercial insurance company called Aboriginal Insurance Services. This company is one of the first Indigenous-owned and Indigenous-run insurance company offering insurance only to First Nations communities, specifically those on-reserve, for which traditional insurance had never been an option. Aboriginal Insurance Services also has 3 additional subsidiaries: Aboriginal Emergency Response Services, Nativelands Specific Claims Group, and Nexiis. I was tasked with first creating a document that encompassed all First Nations history, to provide the client/general public/potential investors, and stakeholders with vital historical context for the present state of most First Nations reserves. Following that, I was tasked at building company profiles and business plans for each subsidiary.
