Who We Are and What We Do
Respite Clean was started by myself, Samantha McKeag, in the summer of 2018. Initially, it had simply been a means to keep myself occupied following 2 lay offs in quick succession, while I figured out my next move.
I started with 6 clients (also nicknamed "The Original Six" and who remained with me until I closed our doors in 2020 due to COVID-19). I had enough clients to work 4 days a week and have a 3-day weekend with my family. But then one of the original 6 referred me to a friend of theirs, and then another of the original 6 referred me, and then another and another. Soon, I started to realize that if I was going to help as many families as I could, I would need some help...and it just snowballed from there.
As of today (August 2021), Respite Clean has served over 310 clients, including weekly/biweekly/monthly clients, move-in/out cleans, and one-time deep cleans! Talk about a quick leap!
Respite Clean's cleaning practices involve being extremely meticulous and thorough and taking the time to pay attention to all the small details. We use homemade cleaning products (using a mixture of vinegar, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Dawn dish soap and water) which, mixed together in specific proportions ensure a clean that is both long-lasting, thorough, and disinfecting. Additionally, we use Norwex cloths which are a high-quality cloths that aid in increased disinfecting and decreases any possible cross-contamination.
And lastly, as someone who has worked in customer service for over 20 years, I know that great service begins and ends with experienced and friendly professionals, which explains our rigorous hiring process. We believe that our team is the best in the business, and have complete and total confidence in our cleaners and their services.
