The best way to prepare for your genealogical research is to know what to expect.
View the video below for a breakdown of our research process
Our Structured Approach
Genealogical research cannot be rushed. Before research even begins, there are important steps to take to ensure we're heading in the right direction - for our clients as well as for ourselves.
Initial Consultation
A consultation can be in person, on the phone or over video conference. It is a very informal conversation simply to determine what you're looking for and where you want to go
Preliminary Report
The Preliminary Report is taking all the information you have provided to do a quick 3-hour search to determine how much (or how little) work may go into meeting the research goal
Research Plan
Once the ultimate goal has been determined and the Preliminary Report has been completed, your genealogist will prepare a Research Plan that will outline what he/she plans to do. This will ensure that we are all on the same page and looking for the same thing
